Update on the Local Homeless Situation

Have you concerns for the homeless? Are you aware of the homeless statistics for the Tri-City area? Do you wonder how the homeless are clothed and nourished? Have you wondered about affordable housing to ease the pain of homelessness? If your answer is yes to any of those questions, we invite you to a special and informative night at St. Thomas More.

The St. Thomas More Parish Social Justice Committee is hosting an evening meeting on Tuesday, February 20, at 6:30pm. Presenters are Kathy Morota, Pastor of the Community of Christ Church in Carlsbad, and her husband, Norio. Kathy and Norio will share their mission of compassion for the homeless, providing clothing and breakfast each Sunday at their congregation grounds along with helping many to find housing, shelter, and needed medical assistance. Joining Kathy and Norio is Margery Pierce from the Oceanside Housing Commission who will provide information on homelessness and affordable housing in the Tri-City area.

We will also give you an update on the other issues being addressed by your Parish Social Justice Committee.

Do join us for this event. Refreshments will be provided. For further information, please contact Parish Social Justice Committee Chairperson Henri Black at 760-758-8137.
