Creation Care News
Although I have been in preschool all summer, it is now officially “back-to-school” time. So Pope Francis’ prayer in Laudato Si’ speaks to my heart for the tender loving care we should show our “little ones.” “All powerful God, you are present in the whole universe and in the smallest of your creatures. You embrace with your tenderness all that exists. Pour out upon us the power of your love, that we may protect life and beauty” (A Prayer for Our Earth, Laudato Si’, p. 158). Please drive with watchful eyes for little ones crossing the street or driveways on foot or bicycles. Our children are the most precious gift we have on Earth. My own hope is to kick off our community garden with a planter box just for kids! Radishes! Plant one week, see sprouts the next! Carrots, lettuce, broccoli (“little trees”) can all grow through our California “winter.” Contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
