Pastor, Fr. Derek Twilliger

Greetings,

I want to say hello and introduce myself to the parishioners of St. Thomas More.  If we have not met already, I look forward to the opportunity to meet all of you. I also look forward to experiencing the various ministries here, as well.

I will save the long story of my background for a later time and just give a few tidbits about me.

I was a military kid, so I grew up in various places. However, I consider Vista to be my hometown.  I graduated from Vista High School (before there was a RBVHS,– go Panthers).

I began the seminary at age 40. I went to St. Francis De Sales seminary for 2 years, then to Mount Angel for 4 years.  I graduated seminary and was ordained a Priest in 2016 to serve the Diocese of San Diego. 

St. Thomas More is my fourth assignment as a Priest and I am glad to be here. It is a homecoming for me to be back in this area. I have already seen and talked with those I have known for years, met some new folks and, like I said, look forward to meeting the people of St. Thomas More.
