Women’s Guild News

Today is the First Sunday of Advent, which symbolizes Hope with the “Prophet’s Candle” reminding us that Jesus is coming. —www.catholiccompany.com

By now you have received the Women’s Guild annual Christmas Raffle tickets in the mail. If you haven’t done so yet, please send them in with your donation. Make sure your name and phone number are on EACH stub (address labels trimmed to fit work wonders and save time!). Drop the envelope in the collection basket at Mass, in the Parish office, or mail them. The drawing for the $500, $300, and $200 prizes takes place after the 10:30am Mass Sunday, December 17.

Our next luncheon meeting is Monday, December 11, when we celebrate with a delicious Advent luncheon and seasonal music to get us in the mood for the Advent and Christmas seasons. Kathy Santy, our pianist at STM, and Judy Smith, VP of Women’s Guild programs, on the flute, will play beautiful music for us at the luncheon. Always a festive event for Women’s Guild, be sure to set the date on your calendar and consider inviting a guest or two. Please bring a nonperishable item or canned food to donate to the STM shopping cart, any extra teaspoons that you may have to donate to the luncheon supplies, and remember your RSVP with Patty Remington at 760-805-6935 or remingpatty@gmail.com.

Anna Marie Martinet, Corresponding Secretary, requests any extra cards that you can donate. Just bring them to the December meeting or place in box 35.

Our next big fundraiser is the Fashion Show on Saturday, February 17, at Shadowridge Golf Club. Sondra Parks is the chairperson for this event and will be talking to you at the December meeting about what we all need to do to start working on this event. I know we all have Advent and Christmas on our minds, but as all of you know, time flies, and it will be February before we know it!

Looking forward to a peaceful Advent Season!
