Prison and Jail Ministry–“For I was hungry and you gave me food…in prison and you visited me.” Are you called to a special ministry, to visit our forgotten community members? Have you ever thought of visiting incarcerated adults and juveniles in our communities’ prisons or jails? The Office for Life, Peace, and ustice will be conducting two information and orientation sessions for Prisen/Jail Ministry on Thursday, September 5. Session #1 will be from 11:30am to 1:30;pm, ahd session #2 will be from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Both session will be in the San Mateo Conference Room at the Diocesan Pastoral Center at 3888 Paducah Drive, San Diego. Kaiser Permanente Hospice & Palliative Care has many patients in North County who are facing life threatening illness and need volunteers to assist them. Volunteers offer a few hours of relief for caregivers, usually once a week, companionship and emotional support, and practical assistance such as errands. No “hands on” care is required.
